DUI & Risk Reduction Program Defensive Driving Classes
DUI & RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM Effective July 1, 1999, the program required under Georgia Law for the restoration of a driver's license for individuals convicted of alcohol or drug offenses was changed. Drivers who have their license suspended for "Driving Under the Influence, Driving While Impaired, Drug Offenses or Under Age Possession of Alcohol and/or Drugs" are required to attend a Department of Human Resources Licensed Program prior to restoration of Driving Privileges. A-Metro DUI and Defensive Driving School's Certified Program satisfies most Alcohol/Drug Classes by Georgia Courts for other than Drivers License related violations. |
| ASSESSMENTS By law, individuals must first take an assessment before enrolling in a DUI Class. The assessment takes approximately 30-45 minutes and the fee of $75.00 is set by State Law. Payment is accepted in Cash, Money Order or Certified Check. |
| DUI/RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM Following the assessment, the individual will attend a 20 hour Risk Reduction Program at the Location where the Assessment was taken. A-Metro DUI and Defensive Driving School's Program begins on Saturday Morning at 9:00 A.M. Class hours are: Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 A.M. -5:00 P.M. with Monday and Tuesday classes 6:30 P.M.-9:30 P.M. The student must attend the 20 hour class with out being tardy by even one minute in order to complete this program. The tuition is set by law for the 20 hour program. The fee for the class is $190.00 plus $15.00 for materials, a total of $205.00. Payment is accepted in Cash, Money Order or Certified Check. Individuals convicted of a second DUI/Drug Charge, within a five (5) year period, must under Georgia Law, complete a Clinical Evaluation after they have successfully passed the 20 hour DUI Risk Reduction Program. |
| CLINICAL EVALUATIONS After completing the Assessment and the 20 Hour Program, Certified by the Department of Human Resources, individuals convicted of a second DUI/Drug Charge within a five (5) year period must completes a Clinical Evaluation before the Department of Motor Vehicle Safety will possibly restore Driving Privileges. A-Metro DUI and Defensive Driving School will furnish you with a list of Licensed Evaluators in your area who can complete the Clinical Evaluation for you. You may pick the Evaluator you wish to use. A-Metro DUI and Defensive Driving School, upon your signed authorization, will transfer your assessment Results to the Evaluator. The cost to transfer the Assessment Results is $10.00. By Law, all Evaluations and Results are Confidential. The Clinical Evaluator will determine whether your Driving Privileges should be restored or that you must enroll in an Out-Patient or possibly In-Patient Service. To maintain a fair process, the Clinical Evaluator cannot recommend your enrollment in a program where they have an interest. |
